My name is Natalie Van Note.

I have always had a passion for helping people. Early in my career, I obtained my Master’s degree in International Business. The best part of that work was speaking Spanish and Portuguese with my clients and solving business problems for companies. It was then that I realized I was a “helper” by nature. I went back to graduate school to get my Master’s degree in Counseling, and since 2000, I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC.) I have treated adults, teens, children, couples and families, and yes, I loved using my Spanish skills with families quite a bit. I am also a Child & Family Investigator (CFI), I treated impaired physicians, ran inpatient psychiatric facilities for at-risk youth, and developed and ran a high-risk female corrections facility psychiatric treatment program. I have also worked extensively with the military community in developing treatments for PTSD post-deployment.

My Philosophy About Counseling

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if people could go to therapy once, tell the therapist what their wish was – what they wanted to change or fix in their lives – and the therapist could wave a magic wand, making the wish come true? As ridiculous as that may seem, many people have that mindset when they enter counseling, and it is – unfortunately – unrealistic. I can guarantee, however, that developing a good rapport with you, my client, and meeting you emotionally and intellectually right where you are when you begin counseling DOES open the door to more positive outcomes.

My Specalties

Post Divorce Counseling

Divorce is truly one of the most traumatizing event that could happen in your life. I specialize in high conflict post divorce counseling to help you figure out your life again when you feel like the earth is crumbling around you. If you are thinking “Where do I go from here?” or “How do I move on after my divorce?” I can help.

Co Parent Counseling

After spending many years as a child family investigator and a mediator, I know the in’s and out’s of co parenting with an ex who is hard to handle. I work hard to understand your situation and develop the communication skills needed to create an effective parenting plan that reduces stress on your children.

Pyschotherapy

If you are struggling in your every day life, whether it is from depression, anxiety, PSTD, Borderline Personality Disorder, or the like, I can help. I have over 20 years experience in my field, and I work with many mental health disorders. I work with you to take back your life and live with a sense of security and fulfillment.
